Chixos Backyard Party Theme Playset Review
Spin Master introduced PixOs arts and crafts bead creation studio several years ago and it has been a big hit ever since. If you are not familiar with PixOs they are small plastic craft beads that you can arrange in different shapes and patterns and then mist water on them to make them stick together. You basically use a layout template so the beads do not roll all over the place, and once they are in the colored shape you want then you make them join with water. What is really cool about this creation play toy is they the company has recently release a complimentary toy for it called ChixOs. These are small thin plastic dolls that come clothed with a top, pants, and shoes. What makes them really fun is that you can create accessories for the ChixOs like purses or jewelry and add extra dimensions of fun to the whole thing. There are several different themed plays sets for the ChixOs that you can choose from. All of them that are available come with several dolls and accessories along with an extra supply of PixOs beads. There is the ever popular Designer Loft and the Pet Shop, but equally as entertaining is the Backyard Party themed play set. Let us take a closer look at this set and see why it is so much fun. With the Backyard Party you will get a fun and lively scene that includes a sparkling play pool, and a patio with some furnishings. The theme is well made and completely reusable for hours of fun. You will get two Chixos dolls with this set, and each comes with a designer shirt, pants, and shoes to mix and match. The accessories that are included are a toy inflatable pool raft for the dolls, a colored plastic chaise lounge type of chair, and a diving board. Each of these three pieces are dimpled dimpled and they double as templates for the PixOs beads to make accessories. Also included is a water sprayer to finish off your creations and make the pastic beads stick together. Your child will have endless fun making the accessories using the PixOs. For example you can make water toys like inflatable rings, beach balls, and beach towels to use as props along with the play set. You can always make accessories for the ChixOs dolls like beach bags, jewelry, or sun hats and if you are particular creative even some sun glasses. Of course your child will have fun dressing the ChixOs and making them look fashionable with the numerous combinations you can make with the shoes, pants, and shirt. When you are done and you want to keep the outfit from moving around simply spray it with the included water mister. The themed set comes with one hundred and fifty PixOs plastic creation beads, and you can always purchase refill packs if you run out of the beads. Running short of beads of a good sign as this means your child is using their imagination and creativity with this toy and putting it to good use in their personal development. Do I have to buy the pixos starter kit myself?
I used to have aqua dots and i recalled it so the company sent me 1,000 pixos beads, but i threw away the old aqua dots pack a long time ago and now i only have the beads. I dont have the pen, the templates, or the spray for the water anymore, so do i have to buy it again? or can Spin master do something about it? thank you so much if you can answer my question. (P.S. the starter kit is about 15 bucks!)
I think so. We were also big fans of AquaDots, but we saved all the "hardware". Put it this way, if you purchased a computer with defective software, would you throw away the whole computer? Of course not. I think you are out $15. Sorry to say.
