Today candles are no longer a necessity, yet most people are naturally drawn to candlelight for the peaceful atmosphere and the strong links to the past. It will be an unusual family who doesn't have at least a packet of plain candles tucked away in a cupboard. Is it any wonder that so many people want to learn how to create novelty candles either as a hobby, or yes, even as a business.

Many hobbyists make candles just for their own home, or for a gift to give someone special. When it is personalized, a gift made by candle making wax for example, will become a very personal gift with special significance. Any memorable occasion can be celebrated in this way.

Candle making is an enjoyable craft  and it is easy to learn. Most local craft stores supply the tools, like wax, wicks, and the molds you will need to make your candles stand out . Soon you will create beautiful candles you will be proud to show off to relatives and friends.

Children seem to take great interest in candle making and when the youngsters are ready, many parents grab the chance to share their hobby with them. They can then teach their children the immense pleasure that comes with using you hands to create something beautiful and useful It is a perfect way to create memories of shared experiences with your children.

Some people long for a home business and find candle making the solution , either by selling their range of candles direct to the local stores or, by getting a website and selling them from there.  There are people who do both. They sell to the community and offer a website address for referrals.  Either way, it can become an additional income for the hobbyist, or a lucrative extra income for the family.

To begin making your first candle, your first step is to prepare the wax.  To do that, you have to melt the candle wax  For that you use a double boiler. If you do not have a double boiler here is how you can create one. You will need two different sized pots. One pot must fit into the other. Fill the larger pot with water, then spray the smaller pot with non-stick cooking spray and place the solid wax inside. This is to prevent the wax from burning.

When the wax has melted, you hold the wick in place in the middle of the mold and pour in the wax.  Let it cool for four to six hours before you attempt to release it from the mold. If you find it difficult to remove the candle from the mold, you can place the entire mold into the freezer for half an hour.  it will be much easier then to extract the finished candle

There is no limiit to how many uniquely different candles you can make. You will soon discover how to make scented candles using a great variety of fragrances. You can also use colors and decorations will be a new challenge   with an unlimited choice of options. When you acquire new techniques, you will develop the confidence that comes with experience.

Some creative enthusiasts  even make their own candle making molds by using liquid latex. This lets a candle maker produce candles never seen before.  The only problem with latex molds is that they are generally too flexible to stand on end so that you can pour the wax into the bottom of them.  

To overcome that, you cut a hole in a piece of sturdy cardboard.  The hole will need to be big enough to allow the mold to slip through, but only as far as to the lip.  All latex molds need to have a lip at the bottom for this purpose.  The wax is then poured into the bottom of the mold where the cardboard will support it.   

We have seen several candle makers, who have discovered that candles can be a very lucrative business.  Many have chosen to turn their hobby into a lucrative business.  They buy their supplies in bulk at discount prices.  They take extra care to package their product in the most appealing way, knowing full well that 'packaging sells'. These are people who see an opportunity and grab it.

There will always be people who will want to learn how to create novelty candles. What a great way to add interest and excitement to your life.

black girls, what hairstyles and products do you like best?

my mom is cutting her hair into a bob and its soo cute but shes using a relaxer. shes had one b4 but grew it out...im like against relaxers lol i usually just wear it natural and pull it back in a bun/poof it out into a big curly afro (love it)...i like this redken wet wax stuff too - it makes your hair look wet and shiny all day. um i also love putting those flexible rods in my hair after using miss jessies curling creme, sitting under my dryer for like 30-40 minutes..when you take them out your hair looks soo awesome. then i just style it/spray a LITTLE olive oil sheen on it.
sometimes i straighten it by blow drying/flat ironing my hair. i do my friends' hair sometimes lol funny.
